SERIA: MINIMAL

The MINIMAL series is of course light, but also it is minimalism of form and compatibility with other series. Due to the enormous growth of the “light and fast” segment, the market is full of extremely light and durable materials. Like many manufacturers, we used the lightest ones. But that was not the most important thing for us. First of all, we wanted to find forms of products that would redefine our ultra-light products. For this purpose, we applied the principle of reduction spearheading the entire series. We try to use the simplest solutions while maintaining the full functionality of the product.

SHAPE: OWAL

Oval is a shape that offers a lot of comfort and space inside the sleeping bag. It focuses on integrating all construction components. The hood is component of the main shell, and not a separate component of the structure, as in most sleeping bags. Therefore, by using an oval outline, we gain a lot of space around the head and chest.

PROFILE: TWO-PIECE

Two-piece or classic profile in which the top and bottom are joined at the edges. The design allows to create clean oval cross-section in which the front and back of the sleeping bag smoothly pass to the sides. This is the most frequently used profile in our offer.

CUT: REGULAR

To facilitate comparison, we distinguished three fits: snug, regular and loose.

LAYERS TYPE: H-SHAPED BOX BAFFLING

: H-shaped or classic box baffling. The surface of the fabric and the lining are connected by a perpendicular fabric called a spacer tape. Thanks to this distance, the phenomenon of cold spots in the place of the sewning is reduced. This shape of the baffle allows the down to expand freely and give the insulation layer a regular shape. This is the most common type of baffles we use.

NEW FORM

The history of the creation of OXY is, above all, a history of a new shape. The oval shape designed by our designer, Jakub Marzoch, completely changes the ergonomics of camping. Space around the head and chest greatly improves comfort.

We wanted OXY to be a practical sleeping bag. Only then, ultralight. We wanted to check if the new shape would work well for a longer use. That is why we invited for testing our ambassador Raf Bauer (I wish I was in Scotland) specializing in long-distance marches, our ambassador Agnieszka Korpal with vast experience in ultra, adventure and long-distance cycling routes, Michał Gurgul -editor of Outdoor Magazyn, who knows different ways of enjoying the outdoors and Marek Bożek from Góra Wolności, who traveled with OXY through GSB. OXY passed the test. We haven't changed anything since then.

FUNCTIONALITY OF FORM

We believe that the simplest solutions are the best. That is why we designed a perfectly justified form, which is a tribute to the design minimalism. Oval is an innovative approach to the construction of a sleeping bag. We simplified all its elements to the geometric shape of two connected circles. One is at the bottom of the sleeping bag and forms the bottom. The second one allowed us to integrate the hood with the whole structure, departing from the classic structure where the hood is a separate element. It is a form that provides a large and comfortable space, and at the same time, thanks to its simplicity, allows the structure to be kept very low on weight.

CONVENIENCE

OXY, despite its simplicity, has a shell modeled in three dimensions. To make it spacious, we shaped it with wedges in the feet and head, giving it a form resembling a boat. The use of wedges makes the sleeping bag really comfortable. They have a similar effect to the side panel that we use in warmer sleeping bags, for which wedges would be an insufficient solution due to the volume of the sleeping bag. The use of wedges is part of the concept of minimalism, because they model the sleeping bag exactly where it is needed, and allow you to achieve a lower weight while maintaining the same functionality.

ULTRALIGHT

OXY is an extremely light sleeping bag. However, we did not want to create the lightest sleeping bag. It is not difficult to narrow the sleeping bag as much as possible and deprive it of all details. We wanted OXY to be a functional and comfortable sleeping bag. We've worked out every detail so that it is as light as possible, but still comfortable to use. The basis was a minimalist form of construction and the extremely light Toray Airtastic fabric (20 g / m2), from which we sewed a sleeping bag. However, details such as a short central zipper on a narrow belt and a pocket with a tab closure are also important.

LIGHT WARMTH

In the case of ultra-light sleeping bags, the weight to thermal ratio is a key issue. We took care of the selection of the highest quality down. We have designed a system of two slats with a cubic structure, which guarantee perfect coverage of the zipper, and a slat around the head. Their combination is replaced by a classic inner collar, stopping heat from escaping from the hood.

ZIPPER AND VENTILATION

OXY has a short three-way zipper which reduces its weight. Its location, however, makes getting in still very comfortable. Additionally, we have placed ventilation in the feet. You might think that with an ultra-light sleeping bag it is unnecessary to add weight. However, we wanted it to be a versatile sleeping bag and such a feature will allow the sleeping bag to be used in a much wider range of temperatures.

DETAIL

The OXY sleeping bag has two pockets closed with an overlap. A reflective patch with our logo will help you locate it. Each zipper has a black and white string from a Polish manufacturer. Outside, we sewed four pullers also made in Poland.

GOOSE DOWN 860 CUIN

OXY is filled with specially selected, polish goose down. Thanks to the fill power of 860 cuin with a very low weight, it provides excellent thermal insulation parameters. Additionally, specially designed longitudinal baffles provide its optimal stabilization.

NATURE-FRIENDLY AND LIGHTWEIGHT

OXY is made of ultra-light LOTUS fabric, which replaced Toray AIRTASTIC in our offer. It is equally light and breathable, but moreover, it is made entirely of recycled materials, has leading certificates on eco-friendliness of its creation process, and its production uses only a trace amount of water. This is a very important step for consciously building our offer. It will be a gradual and long-term process, but we would like to ultimately make most of our products from recycled or natural materials.
